Founded in 1999 in the spa town of Cheltenham, SOHO Coffee Co. prides itself on being the first artisan coffee chain in the UK; combining the care and craft of a skilled team of baristas with a slick, first class coffee operation.

We have grown through staying true to our values - Simple, Organic, Honest and Original - and now have a portfolio of 40 stores, with customers enjoying our handmade food and Fairtrade coffee in locations from London to Las Palmas.

Continuous investment in brand design and product innovation continues to ensure our success across the different market sectors; we trade strongly in shopping malls, travel and leisure and have recently entered into the healthcare market.

Owned for much of its life by two families; SOHO has benefited from the dedication and entrepreneurialism that personal investment brings. Having established a successful franchise arm to the core business, SOHO first met BTC in October 2014 to discuss franchise opportunities in the Middle East. BTC quickly recognised the opportunity to invest in SOHO and set out to acquire the majority stake in the business. Although not looking to sell at this time, the Directors recognised it needed investment in order to meet its growth targets and expand to new markets. They saw in BTC a partner who is similarly passionate about quality and with a track record of successful investments and partnerships. In July 2015 the transaction completed, marking BTC's first investment in the UK market.

Since the investment and with BTC's support, SOHO has continued to develop and innovate, culminating in its new format stores being opened across the whole of the UK.
